Skin Rejuvenation in Estero & Naples — Chemical Peels, SkinPen Microneedling & Dermaplaning

Skin rejuvenation at Skinhaus Aesthetics is led by Madyson Alvarez, our lead aesthetician, for patients in Estero, Naples, Bonita Springs, and across Southwest Florida. These are the resurfacing and skin-health treatments that work without a laser — medical-grade chemical peels, SkinPen microneedling, and dermaplaning. Each one corrects a different concern, and the right starting point is matched to your skin at consultation rather than chosen from a menu.

Which treatment is right for you

Start with the concern, not the treatment

If your concern is dullness, uneven tone, mild breakouts, or sun pigment, a chemical peel is usually the entry point. If it’s acne scarring, enlarged pores, or crepey texture, SkinPen microneedling is the collagen-building tool. If you simply want instantly smoother skin, softer makeup application, and your peach fuzz gone, dermaplaning does that in about half an hour with no downtime. Many patients rotate through all three over a year as a maintenance rhythm.

One honest distinction up front: these treatments use chemistry and gentle mechanical resurfacing, not light energy. For deeper sun damage, stubborn brown spots, or vascular redness, a laser treatment may be the better tool, and Madyson will tell you so rather than sell you a series that won’t reach the problem. If a laser is the direction, our Sciton Halo vs Moxi guide compares the two we’re asked about most.

How each treatment works

Three approaches, three different mechanisms

Chemical peels — controlled resurfacing

A peel applies a medical-grade solution that loosens the bonds between damaged surface cells so they shed and are replaced by fresher skin. Skinhaus uses superficial to medium-depth peels — agents such as glycolic, salicylic, lactic acid, or a Jessner-style blend, chosen for your skin. Superficial peels suit mild photoaging, melasma, comedonal acne, and post-breakout redness; a slightly deeper peel addresses fine lines, sun spots, and more pronounced texture. Your specific peel is selected at consultation based on your skin type and goals.

SkinPen microneedling — collagen induction

SkinPen is the first microneedling device cleared by the FDA, cleared specifically for improving the appearance of facial acne scars. It creates thousands of precise micro-channels that trigger the skin’s own repair response — “collagen induction therapy” — building new collagen without forming scar tissue. Beyond acne scars, patients use it for enlarged pores, crepey texture, and overall skin quality. Because it works with your own healing, results build over a series rather than a single visit, and it’s considered appropriate for a wide range of skin tones.

Dermaplaning — physical exfoliation

Dermaplaning uses a sterile blade to gently lift away dead surface cells and the fine vellus hair (“peach fuzz”) that traps shadow and product. It works only on the outermost layer of skin — it does not touch the hair follicle — so it leaves skin immediately smoother and brighter, helps serums absorb, and lets makeup sit flawlessly. To settle the most common worry: dermaplaning does not make hair grow back thicker or darker. Vellus hair stays vellus and typically returns in two to four weeks.

Downtime

What recovery actually looks like

Chemical peels vary by depth. A superficial peel usually means one to four days of mild redness and light flaking; a medium-depth peel can mean a week or more of visible peeling, so we plan it around your calendar. SkinPen microneedling typically leaves skin pink and warm — like a light sunburn — for 24 to 48 hours, with most patients back to routine the next day; a series of roughly three to six sessions spaced four to six weeks apart produces the full result. Dermaplaning has essentially no downtime, with at most mild redness or dryness that settles within a day. After any of the three, daily broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher is essential, because freshly resurfaced skin sunburns and pigments easily — a real consideration in year-round Southwest Florida sun.

Candidacy & safety

When we’ll pause or adjust

Most healthy adults are candidates, but these treatments aren’t right for every skin on every day. We postpone peels and microneedling during pregnancy and breastfeeding and screen carefully if you’ve taken isotretinoin (Accutane) in the past six months, since recently treated skin heals unpredictably. Active cold sores, an active skin infection or breakout in the treatment area, and a personal history of keloid scarring or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation all change the plan — sometimes a gentler approach, sometimes a short delay. None of this is a sales script; it’s the screening that keeps results clean and skin safe.

Pricing

How Skinhaus prices skin rejuvenation

Pricing depends on the treatment and whether a single session or a series is the right plan — a one-off dermaplane is priced very differently than a course of microneedling or a medium-depth peel. We don’t publish fixed prices online because an honest quote depends on your skin and your goals, and a number without that context tends to mislead. You’ll get a written estimate at your consultation before anything is scheduled.

Naples & Southwest Florida

Why Naples patients see Madyson for their skin

Skinhaus sits about twenty minutes north of downtown Naples in Estero, an easy drive for patients in Naples, Bonita Springs, and Fort Myers. Madyson builds tailored plans focused on long-term skin health rather than a single dramatic treatment — the kind of steady, intentional approach that suits Southwest Florida skin living under near-constant sun. Many patients pair their rejuvenation plan with medical-grade skincare and, where it fits, with injectables or a laser treatment for concerns these treatments alone can’t reach.

Patient FAQ

Common questions about skin rejuvenation

Which is best for me — a chemical peel, microneedling, or dermaplaning?

It depends on the concern. Chemical peels are the usual entry point for dullness, uneven tone, sun pigment, and mild breakouts. SkinPen microneedling is the collagen-building choice for acne scars, enlarged pores, and crepey texture. Dermaplaning is for instant smoothness, softer makeup application, and removing peach fuzz with no downtime. Madyson matches the treatment to your skin at consultation.

Is SkinPen microneedling FDA-approved?

SkinPen is FDA-cleared — it was the first microneedling device cleared by the FDA, cleared specifically for improving the appearance of facial acne scars in adults. It is also widely used to improve enlarged pores, texture, and overall skin quality. We use the term "cleared" rather than "approved" because that is the accurate regulatory status for the device.

Does dermaplaning make facial hair grow back thicker or darker?

No — this is a common myth. The blade works on the outermost layer of skin and does not touch the hair follicle, so it cannot change how your hair grows. The fine vellus hair (peach fuzz) it removes stays vellus and typically grows back within two to four weeks, the same as before.

How much downtime do these treatments have?

It varies. A superficial chemical peel usually means one to four days of mild redness and light flaking, while a medium-depth peel can mean a week or more of visible peeling. SkinPen microneedling typically leaves skin pink and warm, like a light sunburn, for 24 to 48 hours. Dermaplaning has essentially no downtime. Daily SPF 30+ afterward is essential for all three.

How many microneedling sessions will I need?

Microneedling builds collagen gradually, so it is usually done as a series of roughly three to six sessions spaced four to six weeks apart. Initial changes often appear within two to four weeks as new collagen forms, with the fuller result developing over the series. Your plan is individualized at consultation rather than sold as a fixed package.

Can I have these treatments while pregnant or breastfeeding?

We typically postpone chemical peels and microneedling during pregnancy and breastfeeding and will screen for it at consultation. Dermaplaning is a gentler, mechanical-only option that some patients continue, but we still review your individual situation first and encourage you to confirm with your OB. When in doubt, we wait.

Microneedling or a laser — which is better for acne scars and texture?

Microneedling is often the first step for acne scars and texture: it builds your own collagen, has low downtime, and is flexible across skin tones. Lasers tend to excel at sun damage, brown spots, and redness. Many patients do well with one or a combination, and the right call is made at consultation. See our laser treatments page if pigment or sun damage is your main concern.
